No loot boxes

No loot boxes

Sells no paid random items in any of its current games, or has publicly committed not to.

Fair · Good practice

A company that sells no paid random items has ruled out one of the most harmful money models in games.

What it means

None of the company's current games sell loot boxes, gacha pulls, card packs or any other item with random contents bought with real money, directly or through a premium currency. Random rewards earned by playing don't count against it.

How we apply it

We add it when no current game from the company sells paid random items, checked against its games in the guide and its store pages, or when it has made a public commitment not to. One current game that still sells them rules it out, even if its other games don't.
