Take-Two Interactive (SEC Form 8-K) - Court case
Sued in a class action alleging NBA 2K virtual currency is lost when servers close
A class action filed in California in 2023 on behalf of a minor, J.A., alleges that Take-Two and 2K take players' money by shutting each NBA 2K game's servers about two and a half years after release without refunding unspent Virtual Currency (VC) bought with real money or letting players move it to the next edition. Take-Two denies the claim; an NBA 2K executive said in a deposition that 'there is no technical solution in existence' for transfers, and its terms say players have 'no ownership or other rights' in virtual items. As of September 2026 the case was continuing and no ruling had been reported.

Take-Two also agreed to extend changes it had made to its corporate governance.
Eurogamer - Regulator action
Settled US FTC charges over undisclosed 'Hot Coffee' sex content
The US Federal Trade Commission charged that Take-Two and Rockstar Games broke the FTC Act by advertising Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas with its 'M' rating without disclosing that the game discs held unused but potentially viewable nudity and a sex mini-game, which a third-party modification called 'Hot Coffee' unlocked. Under the settlement the FTC imposed no fine, but ordered the companies to set up a review system so the ratings board is told about all content on a disc, with penalties of $11,000 per future violation. Take-Two had already spent $24.5 million on the recall and relabelling.
