Union ratified first contract after three years

US labour board found merit in retaliation charge

QA testers voted to form the first union at a major US games publisher
Raven's QA testers voted 19 to 3 to form the Game Workers Alliance with the Communications Workers of America after Activision Blizzard declined to recognise the union voluntarily. Activision Blizzard said a decision affecting the whole studio should not be made by 19 employees, then recognised the union in June 2022.

QA staff walked out after contract testers were laid off
Raven Software staff began a walkout, which became a strike lasting nearly two months, after a dozen QA contractors were let go, demanding full-time jobs for the whole QA team. Activision said it was converting about 500 temporary workers across its studios to full-time roles. The strike ended in January 2022 after the QA testers announced they were forming a union.
